Happening at Ozark Regional Transit
Mission Statement
Ozark Regional Transit, Inc. is dedicated to providing safe, reliable,
and affordable public transportation to both the rural and urban residents
of the four county area within our jurisdiction.
Two New Commuter
Express Routes
Beginning Tuesday, September 2nd, two new routes will begin service
connecting various locations.
Route
50 - This route begins in Lincoln and travels through Prairie Grove
and Farmington into Fayetteville and provides a return trip in the afternoon.
Route
54 - This route connects various locations throughout Fayetteville,
Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville. It will have stops at the University
of Arkansas, Regional Technology Center, NWA Mall, Elm Springs Rd, Northwest
Arkansas Community College, and Scottsdale Center.
September 2nd through
September 12th, there will be no fare collected on these introductory
routes.
NWACC Students
& Staff Ride Free
Ozark Regional Transit and Northwest Arkansas Community College
have reached an agreement to allow all students and staff of NWACC to
ride free on all ORT Fixed Routes. A current NWACC ID must be shown
to the driver upon entering the bus.

With the possibility of eliminating routes due to funding problems
from the local governments, ORT is asking you to take action now and
let your local officials know how important your transit system is to

ORT receives
award from Federal Transit Administration
ORT recently received an award from FTA for having the highest percentage
growth in ridership in the state of Arkansas. We just completed a Fiscal
Year with record ridership as we provided 165,979 trips which is a 27%
increase over last year. The Fixed Routes carried 127,407 passengers
while the Paratransit Routes carried 38,572.

Northwest Arkansas Omnibus Survey
The questions were relating to Public Transportation and Ozark
Regional Transit. The survey was conducted by the Survey Research Center,
University of Arkansas during April 2007and May 2008.
