On-Demand Transit: How It Works
ORT On-Demand is a shared public transit service that lets riders request a trip within designated service zones using the ORT On-Demand app or by phone, providing curb-to-curb transportation without a fixed route. Rides are scheduled based on demand and may be shared with others traveling nearby. When booking an On-Demand ride, passengers may be directed to a fixed-route bus if there is an existing route near both the pick-up and drop-off locations. This means you have the option to use a fixed-route bus when your trip falls within the service area of that route. This helps ensure faster, more reliable trips.
Fares are $1.25 per trip for up to 5 riders in a group and can be paid through the app or other ORT payment options.
