Ride Smart with

Bikes on ORT Buses
All ORT buses are equipped with front-mounted bike racks and currently serve over 22 bicycle riders each day- making it easy to combine biking and transit.
How to Use the Bike Rack
Before You Load
-
Remove any loose items (water bottles, bags, pumps).
-
If the rack is folded up, squeeze the handle and lower it. The rack weighs less than 30 lbs and is easy to use.
Loading Your Bike
-
Load only from the curb side or directly in front of the bus.
-
Place your bike in an open wheel slot.
-
If it’s the only bike, use the slot closest to the bus.
-
Pull the support arm up and over the front tire.
-
The hook should rest on the highest point of the tire.
-
(Optional) Secure your bike with a personal lock.
While You Ride
-
Board the bus.
-
There is no additional cost to bring a bike.
-
Let the driver know you’ll be unloading your bike when you request your stop.
Unloading Your Bike
-
Lower the support arm.
-
Lift your bike out of the rack.
-
If the rack is empty, fold it back up.
-
Step away from the bus with your bike.
